Eliminate static faults and burned out fine etched interlayers by properly grounding your drilling heads. Sierra Polymer offers factory approved conductive STAT-VAC replacement hose kits which do not require wrapping the ground straps around the drilling head vacuum hoses.

Estimated installation time for removal and replacement of old vacuum hoses is twenty minutes.

1. Remove all existing hoses and ground straps.

2. Using one of the manifold mounting screws and ground straps removed in Step 1, ground the vacuum collector manifold to the steel framework inside the machining cover. Insure the strap will not interfere with any moving parts.

3. Insert the manifold hose adaptors into the original Excellon manifold. This step may be omitted if Prima collectors have been retrofitted onto your machine.

4. Connect the STAT-VAC hoses to the drill head male fitting and slide into the female fitting on the manifold collector. CAUTION: Do not trim the hoses on the male fitting drill head side. The hose may be trimmed if necessary on the female fitting vacuum manifold collector end only.

5. Suspend the hoses away from moving machine parts using the tie wraps included in your STAT-VAC Kit.

6. IMPORTANT! Use a continuity tester to verify adequate grounding from the drill heads to a machine ground point. For example, check between an unpainted surface of a spindle and the table.

Sierra Polymer's STAT-VAC Vacuum Hoses will last up to fifteen times longer than the original hoses or approximately 12,000 machine hours.
